Person–Centred Approaches

Go to the Person-Centred Approaches section of the NDT's website

Welcome to our person-centred approaches pages. These pages are run by Develop's person-centred approaches inclusive practice forum. This is a partnership of organisations and individuals with an interest in supporting people to plan for the type of life that they want to lead. Person-centred approaches draw our attention to what is important to a person in order to set realistic goals, identify barriers to achieving one's goals, and planning how these barriers can be overcome. Goals can be about having a good day every day, working towards independent living or regaining interests and dreams - it all depends on the individual.

Our forum meets on a quarterly basis to discuss how we can develop our skills in person-centred approaches, not just within mental health services but more importantly, in the wider community.

What we have to offer:

  • We share socially-inclusive practice.
  • We support the development of services and organisations wanting to use person-centred approaches, including mentoring and training for person-centred planning facilitators.
  • We run local events.
  • We signpost people to training opportunities and find solutions to current issues related to using person-centred approaches.

In this section you will be able to find:
