Wolf Wolfensberger - A Celebration

One year after the death of Dr Wolf Wolfensberger, the Values Education and Research Association (VERA) are inviting you to participate in a one-day event. Anyone who wishes to celebrate the contributions Wolf made to the debate about, and the understanding of, ways to help vulnerable people access the good things of life is welcome.

We want to hear from you about the impact of Wolf’s ideas on your life and/or work and encourage a wide range of different contributions from participants.  We welcome your ideas and contributions covering any aspects of his life and work.

A detailed programme will be put together when we know who plans to attend and what people would like to talk about. So far, the possible topics people might like to lead or participate in discussions around, include:

  • Memories of Wolf, the man
  • Normalization and the early days of PASS and PASSING in the UK
  • The power and impact of Citizen Advocacy and Advocacy in all its forms
  • The personal impact of Moral Coherency
  • Deathmaking, especially in the light of recent reports on hospital care for older people and ‘Death by Indifference’
  • SRV and what is happening currently in the UK or elsewhere

The event needs contributors and participants in order to be worthwhile so we hope you will consider making a contribution by attending and/or leading a discussion.
