Direct payments are cash payments councils can give to people needing support from social services.
Direct payments help you live more independently because they give you more control over decisions affecting your life and the people who come into your home to help you.
The scheme helps you choose how your care needs are met.
This web page provides information of the London Borough of Bromley's Direct Payments scheme.

The London Borough of Bromley are changing Bromley's adult social care. These changes will mean that people who receive social care and support will have more choice and control over the care and support they receive and how this fits in with their lives. It will also mean that people, whether Council or self-funded, will have equal access to services and support.

Self Direct is a social enterprise dedicated to promoting changes in the 'social and health market-place'
We believe changes are needed in the 'social and health market-place' so that people who need support are in control of their support, their lives and live life in a way that's right for them
We work in partnership with other like-minded people and organisations to find new and imaginative ways to bring about the changes needed in the 'social and health market-place'
